Work Place Energy

Most of us spend about a third of our lives at work. Now more than ever many are stepping away from corporate world, creating their own business's or working from home which is great. But there are still some that will have to go to work and synergies with the energy thats around them. For the amount of time spent at work, everyone deserves peace, teamwork and work place balance! We often end up working even longer hours with fewer or shorter breaks. That is not the goal! Jump off of societies hamster wheel! Do not let your work place overwork you and drive you nuts!
Take your breaks, get out for sun, fresh air and a walk. Use that PTO and vacation time. As fast as a corporate world job got ya, they will get rid of you.
We often hear about the importance of work-life balance for our mental wellbeing. But what if, instead of assuming that work is energy-draining and then relying on our leisure time to recuperate and rejuvenate, we can improve the energy of our workplace and make it a more nourishing place to be? That is the goal. Here are 3 tips to do exactly that. Try them out and see how the energy and vibes around the office shift.
1. Set up your Desk for Success Vastu is a traditional Indian system of design for buildings and uses principles to rectify energy imbalances. According to Vastu, it is auspicious to work facing the north, northeast or east directions, so if possible set up your desk so you are facing one of these ways. Facing east is particularly good for entrepreneurs, and is said to bring inspiration and promote peak work performance. An organized work place leads to productivity.
2. Keep the Air Fresh and Fragrant Have you experienced sitting in a warm, stuffy meeting room? No windows? No room for energy to move?? Stagnant air can make us feel tired and unmotivated. If you work in an enclosed space then opening the windows regularly is an easy and effective way to remove the stale energy in the room. Ask fellow co workers to be open to letting you try out diffusers that are allergy friendly, cleanse with a eucalyptus or any other refreshing citrus sent to wake up the positive vibes around the office. 3. Introduce Energy Enhancing Plants If you work a lot on the computer, surround yourself with plants and items of a green color. This will allow your eyes to rest and will enhance your focus. Scientific studies have shown that plants have the ability to filter toxins out of the air and lower the body’s response to stress. Remember most importantly, check your junk at the door. Be aware of your own energy and how that can impact your co workers. Just as you wouldn't want anyones energy impacting your day, you wouldn't want it done to yourself, so don't do it to others. Work is not a release place or permission accessed to just dump all your personal life info onto your coworkers. Ask others if they hold space for non work convo's. Suggest positive solutions or suggestions instead of gossiping and venting without a purpose.
The people you spend the most time with impact you. Check yourself and the energy around you and make your work place more desirable. Remember its never to late for continuing education, a career switch or developing your self into the next phase life has to offer you!
